It's Been a Long Time

I gave up on my blog when my step mother became seriously ill. I went through a period of grief after she passed. I moved back into my townhouse. I haven't stitched for such a long time!  But I'm back and I'll post as much as I can.

I'm back to my stitching. Here is my latest WIP

I'm back

Today is my Birthday

I had a big surprise. My girlfriend drove for an hour from her place to mine to surprise me on my birthday!!
It was wonderful to see her I don't get around much anymore and she works. It's been a couple years since we have seen each other. Like a good friend, you don't have to be physically present all the time to maintain a strong relationship. God bless this part of the internet.

I've been gone a long time...but I'm still around!!

I have been taking care of my stepmother (91) who is very healthy but cannot remember what you tell her past five minutes. I found out that I have Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. It means that I am out of breath most of the time and am very tired. But I have made a commitment to do more needlework now that summer is over.

New to my stash

Reflecting Pools by Laura J Perin.
I love the blue threads (my favorite) in this project. I had to have it!! I can hardly wait to start it. Laura's designs are so pretty. I like her Impressions group. If I had the time, I would do them all. But since it is my birthday next week, I decided to treat myself this one indulgence.

I will start on it when I get all the threads.

My Spoiled Babies

Evan and Jasmine. Brother and sister. They are Persian. I had a grey cat before them that was the sweetest cat!  I was only going to get the girl cat but I was working at the time and didn't want to have a lonely cat so I got her brother too.  Turns out the boy cat is a real mama's boy. He follows me around the house and cries whenever I leave him alone. Jasmine does the strangest thing, she sleeps under a blanket all day. I have to watch her because she will climb into any confined space. She likes to be hidden. She likes to sleep on my lap if I cover her with the afghan.
